Contacted the county treasurer today and getting a title doesnt sound terrible as long as the VIN is clean. Have to call him back and have it checked out.

The guy is asking $1500 for the one in Mankato (about a 5 hour drive) that buzzard posted, too much with no title?
It always sounds easy over the phone but once you start the process it's a P.I.T.A. lol...

$1500 IMHO is way to much for it since it doesn't have a title. It looks to have a hole in the fender, lots of snow up against it and the either the driverside window is down or missing so who knows what the inside looks like...

I'd sell ya mine but I don't think you'd like the 15k I'd want for it...

I also have a 51 F3 that I could sell if ya wanted the better looking year body style as compared to the 48-50

Utah's not exactly right in your neighborhood though..

Good luck in your search

Josh
An F-3 might be a better candidate for a 4x4 conversion, especially if a frame swap was in the plan. The wheelbase would be closer to the modern frames'. (Width would still be a problem)

How much does the wheelbase vary from F1 on up? I'm hoping to use a 90's F150 4x4 short bed (116.8" wheelbase) for the swap

Thanks, I'll keep it in mind - for now I'm looking to drive less than 8 hours for a truck (cali is a few thousand miles away)

here's another 48-50 here local.
Car Classifieds for Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming - ksl.com

Sounds like you should just start taking a few road trips through some of the local farm country and looking for some old trucks hiding behind barns ans sheds.
I was working next to a small farm a couple years ago and noticed a beat up old F3 in talking with the farmer I asked if he wanted to sell it, he said< that old rusty truck was one of my dads friends trucks that was parked there over ten years earlier and he had since died. he said I could just have the truck! the body was pretty beat up but the flathead was in good shape and I paid him $20 for helping me load it with his forklift.

That Sterling listing has been on and off CL for a year or so. (The red '52 panel has always caught my eye but I don't have room, or time, for another project.) They claim to have a lot of trucks and parts, are less then two hours from you, so it might be worth it to call and then make a trip.
