carbs vs EFI

Hello, all, this is my first post. As the title reads, I'm trying to decide which makes more sense. I have a 1990 F 150 4.9 EFI that the fuel pump just died on. To replace the pump its about $150. But my concern is that because the truck is used very little, like 5 times a year, would I be better off putting carbs on than trying to troubleshoot frayed wires and corroded contacts everytime I try to fire it up?--Mice seem to love it! I have a set of Webers(long story)--(3 ) 48- DCOE's with linkage. I just don't have the manifolds. Then, what do I do about the distributor? My buddy suggested just unplugging it from the ECU and running it without advance. Or, would I be ahead going to my local junkyard and finding an old six (carbed) and pulling everything? If this is preferred, is the 240 compatible? Years? I thank you all in advance for input.

Do not get one from a TFI model, but pick up the carburetor, ignition harness, distributor, coil + bracket and blue grommet ignition module from a DuraSpark II model. ..from the late '70's-> early 80's I believe

You can tell from the vacuum advance on the distributor.

These are simple and reliable IME. I have a friend with a 1977 Granada 250 I-6 it runs well now that the feedback carb is gone.
