I was just wondering if your batteries held up or if you had to replace them?
After leaving them on the trickle charger for 40 or so hours, they seem ok. I have been driving around for a few days and the truck has been starting great, even in cold weather.
The new cable connections are holding up nicely as well.

Glad to hear it all worked out for you. Had my share of troubles last year, and hoping it runs great this year.
My cable ends were in really bad shape so as a temporary solution I put new ends on all of the cables. 4 out of 6 ends were sautered on but the passenger's side ground was in such bad shape in terms of corrosion they had to be crimped, and I am going to have to get a new set made. I am not impressed with the quality of the aftermarket stuff available in comparison with how heavy duty the OEM cables are so I want to have a set made

Did you see this post, Lisa?
For "only" $71.xx you can have OEM quality pre-made positive cable from batteries to starter.
Oh, yeah, those can be made easily.
I need to do that myself soon.
No corrosion, but the cable ends keep loosening up.
Now I've overtighened them so bad that the lead has broken around the bolt and I've temporarily secured them using oversized washers.
New cables will have brass ends, that will stop that issue forever.
I'm going to put MIL spec terminal clamps on the batteries, then all I need is some good cables with the single eye ends. Easy to replace in the future, and easy to disconnect the batteries without having to deal with those OE clamps that just lose their shape after a while. I usually get my stuff from this guy:
Nice link Keith. I usually use McMaster-CARR but it's nice to see it all on one page. Cables don't corrode here but I like to make my own cables for stuff.
