I have a C6 with a 460 engine and I was talking to an aquaintence about performance and cruising speeds. He said if I wanted an overdrive in the C6 I needed only to change out a valve body from a e4od and put it in the C6. That just does not sound right to me and can't be that simple. I don't have a clue and have googled every site I could find but did not find anything on point.
Is that all there is to get an overdrive in the third gear of a C6.
The valve body has nothing to do with overdrive. If your trans didn't come with an overdrive ratio (and the C6 didn't) changing the valve body isn't going to do anything.
Plus the E40D valve body won't fit in a C6 anyway.
Like Ziegelsteinfaust said, if you want overdrive in a C6 (my favorite trans BTW) you'll need to go with something like a Gear Vendors OD unit.
