i dont know about the 2011, but we went from a 00 F350 to a 01 f550 in 2001. we love the larger rotors, heavier side wall tires, heavier rear axle. thats the reason we bought it, cuz it was made strictly for towing. we do live on a farm and taking it through fields will bounce you all over the place. but then again f450-550 is not made to ride smooth in off road conditions, its made to haul heavy loads on road.

from what yall saying, looks like ford took a F350 and put heavier springs on it and slapped f450 on the side.

That doesn't make any sense to me at all. Sway Control only comes into play IF the trailer starts to sway in a UNCONTROLLED situation. Otherwise you don't even know it's there. Sound like a B.S. bash to me.

Just say'n

exactly...in 8000 miles of towing, some in heavy crosswind, I have never had the sway control activate.

You tow a fifth wheel camper though right? I would hope that any fifth wheel RV except for maybe a toy hauler would never have enough of a sway issue to require sway control.

Just curious as to why you think a toy hauler 5th wheel would be more likely to sway as opposed to a non-toy hauler 5th wheel RV?

I certainly have more fiver miles but I have pulled both types. Shane would certainly know as he pulls an Airstream

YUP, the Airstream is more likely to expeirence sway than a fiver., but like I stated the sway Control will not engage unless there is uncontrolable sway from the trailer/fiver. Then the Ford will activate it's sway control "defense". Which under options you can choose to disengage that feature under options on the 4"lcd screen on the dash.

On the sway issue, they both will. Most likely depends on how the trailer/fiver is loaded. If the weight is all in the rear in either,.. it WILL sway. Those Fiver.///Toy haulers with all the weight in the rear are very dangerous. All depends on how the weight is distributed in either case. Wind can also be a factor.

Shane, that is a pretty bold statement. Toy Haulers are built heavier on the pin than regular 5ers to compensate for the fact that when loaded with toys they will even out. when empty, my Fuzion has a pin weight equal to 22% of the empty weight... when I load it with 2000lbs of toys my pin weight is still 19% of the total trailer weight... nothing dangerous about that at all.

Let me rephrase.....EVERY trailer is dangerous when Loaded improperly mainly excessive weight in rear. I didn't mean one trailer was any more dangerous than the next.

Sorry for the confusion.

I always use the dash and floor vents when driving. I leave it that way when I get out of the truck. I never think about what I had adjusted the heat to.

When I do a remote start, the supplemental heat works, the seat heaters come on. When I put the key in, the seat heaters go off and the system resumes to where I had left it.

I don't ever have to worry about settings the day before a remote start.

I just leave mine on auto...the rapid heat comes on and the seats get hot. At key on...all the same as yours. Where the confusion comes is when the temperature outside is near 32 degrees.

Yeah, I can't address that. It seems it's either been reletively warm or firiggin -5 or so.
