Part of the coverage when getting it done.A good shop will be worth the cost for many of the 'risk' factors.
On something like this its usually worth its money... Painting an Ex isn't a $1000 job unless you do it urself with some spray cans from walmart (or own all the gear and have the shop setup to do this). Growing up in Cali I had a friend who's dad owned a body shop and painted his 65 Mustang every 6 months cuz he could, but for most ppl thats just crazy.
Maaco will paint over everything sometimes too (dents/chips/etc) so you have to 'upgrade' if you don't want the 'basic' package and thus costing more.
Considering how much many of us pay if we 'pay' to have someone just detail/wax an Ex and I can easily see how wrapping might be enjoyable for someone for 7 years.
If ya paid 150$ every 3 months to get it detailed for 7 years its $4200 and most guys charge more if you want that waxed...

It definitely seems to be the big thing here in socal. My dad's actually a graphic artist and a few of his printers have been doing them for awhile.(big thing has been all the food trucks craze in LA) Depending on the graphics and shine vs. like the matte black, I've personally heard $2,500-3,500
