Awesome man!!
he replaced the planetary gear with a steal one instead of the aluminum piece that usually shears off. as well as all the clutch packs.
i haven't stood on it yet to see how it acts but went on a nice easy drive and it was so smooth!
feels pretty solid. 17 quarts later and i need to grab 1/2 quart more ha ha.
it was alot easier to get in then out and thanks for the tips made it so much easier!
Good Morning Cody, Justin & Steve. Have a great day. We have another great day started here in paradise. Mid to upper 70 today. I'm getting on my motorcycle for a little ride.
Cody dont stand on it too hard. What was the drive out cost?
noo way ive had such a light foot all day. haha i think i pissed a few people off creeping away from stop lights. but i got insane gas millage haha almost 12!
it was all free. i pulled it and put it back in there and a friend of my ol mans did me a huge favor repairing it. new clutches and a steel planetary to get rid of the weak aluminum one.

Cody,
Put a bottle of LubeGard in it. You can get it most places. I swear by it. I have had several tranny shops tell me that it was a great product. One of the better tranny shops in Cottonwood, Az told me they did some testing of LubeGard & with just adding a bottle to a good tranny it dropped oil temp 45 degrees. I use it all my automatics.
I had my C-6 rebuilt & I had a Hughes Tow Converter installed along with a TransGo shift kit which converts the forward clutch pack to 6 clutches instead of 5. But I pulled for 60,000 miles with the factory cooler & I serviced it at twice with lubeGard. When it was tore down I was told that everything looked good inside that there was just slight burning on the forward clutches. I tow a 10,000#+ Travel Trailer. It was pulled over almost ever mountain pass in Nevada up to 8000 ft. It pulled Copper Canyon on I-17 several times. The main reason I had it rebuilt was that I wanted a Hughes Tow Converter & I figured if I was going that direction I might as well go all the way including a new flywheel. This is on my 86 F250 4x4 460.
