I found out the timing belt and water pump cannot be removed with the front fascia on the car, so i am pretty much disassembling the entire kraut can.
All Audi's are like that, it's called 'service position' or something.
The facia and rad support are easy to drop down, but you need to unplug the lights.

no, it just sucks working on something you dont want to. i have done plenty of timing belts on VWs, but never a longitudinally mounted 1.8t, which requires the front stuff to come off. not a real big deal but it makes my blood boil regardless.
jim, i already went on that forum looking for parts and other info.
well i was just instructed to head home and pick up some thai food along the way. its a good time to quit anyway because i havent been doing much on the car, i was playing with my dog which is way more fun. i dont have parts yet anyway, not sure where the F they are......?
