Hi guys,
I have a vacum problem with the pulde solenoid if I blank the vac pipe comin into it it builds vac no probs. if I blank the vac pipe goin to the hubs it won't. I have taken it of the firewall and you can feel the soleniod movin. However it seems to be leaking thro the 2 ports in the top.
Should it have some sort of bowl on the bottom? maybe its got knocked of when the batteries where changed?
I am guessing this solenoid sends a pulse of vacum to the hubs one to pull they into drive and then release the vac as the hubs catch within them selses and then another to release them?
I think the pulse solenoid may be knackered anybody know the best place I can order of the internet as I am over in the UK!
I've seen cases here before of vacuum solenoids failing and starting to leak. So it's certainly possible. If the vacuum pump builds a vacuum and shuts off with the line going to the solenoid plugged, but does not do so if the switched port of the solenoid is plugged the it seems like you've identified the problem.
There is a member here who does online sales of Ford parts. His prices are very reasonable and he is very helpful. I don't know much about shipping to the UK though.
Go to www.partsguyed.com. Create an account there and send him a message describing what you need. He'll get back to you with information.
