FICM ?

I'm having a cold weather starting problem. I am down to checking the FICM out now. Here is my question. On the bolt closest to the fender when the key is first turned on I have about 20 volts. In about 3-5 secs it goes up to 48.1. Then when you start it it drops and is running it drops to 25 volts. Is this normal? The 2nd question is what are the other 3 bolts and should I have voltage at any of them? The top two I have nothing and at the 3rd one I have 11.8.

Need the identical measurements taken at the battery terminals and inside the vehicle (e.g. at the cig lighter or obdii port) for voltages.

Have you looked over this video?

YouTube - Ford 6.0 FICM Testing & Removal Instructional Video

I can't get the video to play. I am sure its on my end. I have a 04 F350 4x4. The FICM has 4 pins on it. The first pin when looking at it from the front would be closest to the injectors does not read any voltage. The one to the right or pin 2 does not either. The next one shows 11.8. The last pin is the one that starts out at 20. Then goes to 48 until you try to start it. Then it drops down to 25. Just not sure this is normal.

If the screw closest to the fender falls below 45V your FICM is toast. That's the one you need to worry about.

I just answered a question. I didn't make any claim that it had any benefits or advantages.
