2011 F250 - Exhaust Issue?

I'm thinking I have an issue and hoping it is minor. A couple of days ago I noticed a drone in the truck while running on the highway that was not there before. Not loud but irritating and something that was not there before. It started without warning and there are no indicators or other symptoms. When I got off the highway I noticed the truck seemed a bit louder than normal. Again not terribly loud but noticable to me. Only have about 3K miles on the beast and first issue. Have booked for service on Monday am. Diesel mechanics are off until Monday due to Holidays.

Any thoughts?

Thanks ... I will check the EGR inlet this morning. It seems to be more towards the back of the engine but because it is not a wide open leak it is hard to locate.

I have had occasions when I thought there it was louder. I wondering if it was anything to do with a regen happening....

It never seemed to last long, and I didn't notice when it stopped.

my F450 drones from 90 -100 km/hr always has, I have assumed it is a resonance characteristic of this setup. Not nearly as bad as my 7.3. To a certain extent I think it is also temperature related. Doesn't bother me much, really only noticeable because the truck is so quiet otherwise.

Checked the inlet and outlet to the EGR and everything looked and sounded fine. The pipe from the EGR to the top/back of engine seemed loose. It terminates in a flexible blue coupler and that is where it seems loose.

Have been through the regen many times and no difference in noise or drone level. This was something not encountered in the past 3 months. Hard to define in words but I can tell it is, all of a sudden, louder than before. Even the better half noticed it so you have to know it is more than a db or 2 increase.

Very puzzling. Hope they can find something on Monday.

Anybody found out what caused their cab drone?

2011 F250 6.7 CREW FX4 4" lift, 35s.

I recently took mine in for recall service on tranny (reprogram) and for slow coolant leak. They replaced main water pump. After getting truck back is when I noticed the cab drone. It must be at a decibel that affects my eardrums badly. After spending 15 minutes or more in the truck running around my ears are very uncomfortable.

Here is what its like: If you have a sunroof open it up to the first position then all the way to the second position. Then leave all other windows up and drive at a descent speed and you will notice a similar feeling but its a pulsating sound when done this way. My cab drone is constant and more consistent at low speeds or at idle??
Any help would be much appreciated.

I rarely open my sunroof. I don't know why. But, I do experience the pulsating sensation when I roll down the back windows. not the rear slider, the door windows. It sometimes gets real bad. I don't know what causes it. Something to do with harmonics/wind I think. My '07 four door Chevy used to do it too.

I want to clarify that my cab drone is occuring all the time whether the windows are open or closed. I just used the sunroof scenario as an example to describe the irritating sound. My guess is since they were working under the hood while replacing the water pump that they dislodged the resonator or something regarding the exhaust. IDK. Thanks for the post though.
Again still trying to figure this out because its so bad that I dont even want to drive it
anymore.
