Front end howl

Im having trouble figuring this noise out. Started out as a mid to deep tone howl and a little vibration that stopped when i turned the wheel to the pass side. To me that says wheel hub. I pulled that off yesterday and it was real rough when i spun it by hand and had some play. Checked the CV shaft on that side and looked and felt fine(boots ok, no stick, no play). Took it for a spin after i got it all fixed (new torch kit for xmas made it real easy) and there was still a howl, not as bad though but its still there and is most noticeable at cruise (55 or so). And ideas? Im stumped as to where to go from here. The next day or so ill pull it in the garage again and look at stuff. Any help or ideas?? Thanks guys hope all had a good xmas.

I have had a noise in mine that I've been chasing for a while. When I did my ball joints, I decided to change the CV shafts and hub bearings to get rid of the noise. No luck. The only thing in my front end, that hasn't been replaced is the front differential. My guess is that there's a bad bearing in there somewhere. The noise in mine is most noticeable when turning right, especially if I'm coasting.

I have not checked the drivers side yet, that will be the next step when i jack it up. Odd cuz it seemed to start once it got cold here from what i can remember. Has there been a history of front diffs having noise issues or going bad? Ive never heard of any from the front only from the rear diff with the LS.

Well I dont think this is the problem but while washing the truck i noticed that the sway bar at the drivers side was touching the frame(right by where it bends to go to the end link). Ill have to look into that and see why its touching there. Maybe some vibrations getting transferred through that?

Check the end links. They're known to break.
