5 Stars New 5.0L

Small update on the 5.0L has about 4000 miles on it. We had an RV event to go to last week (yep we tune RV's too ) Had a round trip of 700 miles approx pulling our trailer full of goodies to the event. The truck on the way down and back did very good. I traveled at 67-70 mph approx and avg worst 9.8 and best 10.6 mpg max while in tow/haul mode.
These flat nose trailers are horrible once you get to 60-70 mph for wind resistance. The truck would not hold 6 sixth gear at 67-70 mph on the interstate for the wind drag so i had to lock out 6th and use 5th for whole trip. Once in 5th gear truck ran will power to pull slight grades and once we got into some good hills truck would drop to 4th to climb and return back to 5th. I do want to say the truck has no issues at all accelerating from a stop in town or merging on the interstate pulls like a champ, it flat gets up and moves. Oh and our truck has 3.55 gear set.
One side note about pulling this trailer that i have pulled it with a few different trucks and engine combos V10, V8 and all of them seemed to get about the same mpg pulling this devil of a trailer.

I have always had a cab-high camper shell on the various pickups I've owned. I wonder how much of a difference that would make on the drag created by the trailer's flat front panel by making a higher windbreak in front of it (I hope that isn't as confusing as it looks...).
