You're right, 7Ford6, I did stray a bit from my original topic. Sorry about that. Wouldn't putting jumper cables on it still be enough to get it started? Voltage regulator.....behind the battery on the fender wall?
If the battery was totally dead, then yes, a full charge would be required.. That is if it doesn't have a bad cell.. Voltage regulator is usually mounted next to the radiator on the passengers side, to check the starter solenoid it's on the same side inner fender next to the battery,, Do you have a Chilton's or Haynes Book?? Great investment for basic info on the fly...
Getting a Haynes manual this weekend so maybe I won't have to bother everyone here on the forum so much. bamaF150, I agree it sounds like it should be something simple, but it is still troubling just the same when you are at a loss as far as what else to look for once you have already tried everything you know to do. Anyway, so hopefully the Haynes manual will help to bring me up to speed and I can move along from there. Thank for the assistance everyone has provided up 'til this point. Take care.
How did the battery check out? Tough to diagnose a problem without any information... You may want to start a new thread with a new topic headline for more input from the other board members... Good luck with it.. They can be a pain, but a great learning experience that will help you in the future.....
Just a note - I keep both the Chilton's and Haynes books in the truck for reference, some stuff is easier to find in one or the other at any given time...
