i have a 90 f150 reg cab 5 speed im needing help mounting my cobra 29 ltd bt radio. i was thinkin bout mounting it right above my rearview mirror but im not sure on how to do it. i saw a thread somewhere where the guy cut a small rectangle the size of the cb so u culd angle it down to see the display better. anyone got any pix to show
I just replaced the headliner in my 1995. There was two layers of metal for maybe 5 to 6 inches from the windshield...so be careful there. Should be plenty room to mount your shelf, but again be careful.
I made a bracket like the one the radio came with cept longer arms and mounted it to the roof right above the mirror in that extra piece of metal. i'll see if i can't get pictures. works good i think have it up there out the way not many sit in the middle and i can hide the wires in the trim up there.
I've got my Galaxy 959 hung under the dash just above the stick shift. Its a tight fit, but it works. Personally, I'm not a fan of overhead radios in my daily driver, as that's the same spot I keep my Stetson.
