I am sure it is regening...PCM commands it around 600-650 no matter what.

I think the issue is you had your PCM undated to the latest flash which removed the continious message of "cleaning exhaust filter".

Good news is that the truck is running as designed. A properly running system should perform behind the scenes with no drivablity concerns.

So is that what took place? a recent flash in the last few months?

Ihave not had the truck into the ford lately. I pull a fifth wh camper, went ot tenn this summer, it went into regen several times in the mountain driving. As I returned back home it momantarly flashed once, but has not gone into rergen in over 2000 miles. I get good milage no smoke, clean tail pipe. When I run the data scan all shows good.??????

I'd say leave it alone. As long as there are no concerns, pipes are clean, not making oil or losing coolant.

MIne has pretty much done the same thing on my 2010 F250. Everyonce in a while I get a puff of white smoke out the exhaust for a minute or so. But I do think my MPG's have gone down just a bit. It used to get 15-16 ave. when new, now down to more like 13-14 with all around driving.
Oil was changed at 4800 mi. by dealer. New windshield wiper motor at that time too.
Everything else seems to be fine. Plenty of power. haven't towed the 5th though for a few months.

Listen for a change on the engine sound. It will sound more like an old diesel engine, when it does this, flick the odometer settings until you reach hold to test(or system check).

Do that, if is doing regen, after all the checks it will display the cleaning exhaust filter.
