I have a 2005 F350 cc 4X4 v10 with 48,000 miles and my truck dies while slowing to a stop. I let off the gas, and dead. It does not run rough, no check engine light, and starts right back up. This occurs 1 or 2 times in a several moth period. It may occur on rainy days? I can't recall exactly but from now on I will keep track. I have cleaned the MAF, and my fuel filter has been changed in the last 10,000. My mostly city driving mileage is around 10.5 to 11mpg so that seems ok.
There was a TSB #06-3-9 regarding this and I took it to FORD for a computer flash. Does this truck have an IAC and if so might this be the cause? Any help or suggestions would be great! Thanks
At 48,000 miles my first step would be to spray some cleaner into the air intake, especially on the backside of the throttle plate. Its probably just dirty.
No fix as of yet, though I havent been working on it. I do know its fairly common and not big problem, just annoying. Check out the TSB in my first post. Good luck.
