Well I thought I was getting 16.5mpg, but after checking with a GPS against my speedo found it's 15.8mpg (empty) - F250 2wd, stock 351W & AOD, 3.54, all @ 55mph on 235/85-16's.........never use OD due to combination of speed limit / axle ratio / hills.
12-16 MPG according to the odometer. The speedo is a bit slow, as the truck originally had 215/75-15 rear tires, and now has 31x10.50-15 on the back. The lower figure is when towing, and the higher is running empty. It did a little better before the taller tires were added.
300, C6, 2.75 rear gears (soon to be replaced with 3.25) and I rarely exceed 65 MPH (under 2,000 RPM).
Of course, trying to get in a hurry can drop the MPG to well into the single digits, but you won't go any faster.......
11.5 - 12 mpg running between 60 & 65. 351W with DSII conversion, 2150 carb, AIR & EGR removed, and a Comp Cams 252H installed. Tires are 215/75/R15 at present, but going to 235's soon. Diff is 3.55 and tranny is C6. Running 6 BTDC at present, but will be bumping it up a bit and am considering an adjustable vacuum advance.

Just do it and don't look back!
Use the narrower slot of the plate up (10-L?) if you have one, or bush the limit pin to keep your centrifugal advance around 20.
Depending on compression and fuel you might have an initial advance of 12* +20 or so centrifugal + the additional vacuum advance, if hooked to the timed vacuum port coming from above the throttle plate.
Tnx for the link, ArdWrknTrk. I'll bookmark it and do that later. Now I'm chasing suspension issues so I can replace the tires w/o fear of abnormal wear.
Poll is flawed. Should have wider ranged down low, then tighter as numbers increase. 5-10 MPG is no big deal, most will fall in 10-15, and some higher. As you get into low-mid teens every MPG is a big increase so more significant of a change.
Ina ny event, here's mine...
'86 Supercab F-250, Dana 60 swap up front, 460 swap (around 400 HP), ZF5, 3.55:1, 4" lift, 35" tires, 6000 lbs as it sits. 12.5 MPG highway at 70 MPH and 10 MPG towing about 4500 lbs at 65 MPH.
For extra info, bone stock 351w/C6 no lift, stock tires, 3.55:1 it got ~17 MPG at 75 MPH.
86 4x4 efi 302/aod with 33x12.50's stock height, bone stock engine, 3.55 gears, and i have seen 17.5 mpg on interstate only going 65, but average 15.3 consistently driving through atlanta every day
