does anyone know where i can get one.My friend at ford said that he cant get them anymore.BTW my wife hooked up with Clay and got me some recon cab lights for Christmas.I had no idea. Thanks Clay
I can't understand why these cab light makers don't include a template for different truck installs, Ford, Chevy, Dodge Exct.. When you order your asked what year and make truck and they send a template with your order. Something so simple as a piece or cardboard or think paper for a template. Sorry for the rant Chris, these installs are tricky enough. Have you asked Clay what can be done, a loaner template or Recon sending you one out, just a thought..A friendly rant
I have installed 6 sets on different trucks. All where Recons.I just find the center.Lay a light up there and then get the person who's truck it is to line them up like they want them.Stand back and look and them and make any changes.
The main thing is to set them up the way YOU want them.
I do have one. It came in handy, but it's really not necessary as you can just use the base of a light as the template. But I'll still send it to you if you need it. It's nothing but a piece of sheetmetal cut to shape. I wonder if I could just scan it as a .pdf document and it's come out true to size.
Thanks Keith, I thought the template goes right across the hole top of the cab so all you have to do is just drill some holes and your good. If it's just a single piece that's all right and thanks for the offer.
There used to be a guy on here with the screen name of "mind".
When he gave up his own website, he sent me his how-to information on this subject to add to mine. Here's how he did his: Mind's Cab Light Installation
