Overdrive Switch

Has anyone done away with the overdrive switch on the gear shift , and used a dash mounted switch ? Good or bad idea???????

I haven't heard of anyone doing this mod. But, if you do it, one thing comes to mind.... try to maintain the illumination of the original switch. Reason being is that I believe the transmission trouble codes are displayed via flashing the "OD off" light.

why would you want to do that ?

i dont see how a dash mounted button would be convienent to use at all when you needed instant OD on/off shifts.

Because , I'm tired of changing out the gear shift lever !!!!!!
If I do it This Time......That will be #6 ? ? ?

I'm thinking of tieing in where the shifter plugs in.......That should leave everything else intact ??
