Help with new battery cables please
I have quite a bit of corrosion happening on the battery cables and was looking into building some on my own. Can anyone help me with the length I will need to complete the task for both batteries? It's an 04 6.0 diesel. I will be changing both positive and negative cables. I will also be testing the alternator when doing that as well. I'm tired of my truck not starting when I need to get somewhere.

You probably have a loose ground cable. You may want to clean those up with baking soda and water. Check all of your connections. Put felt rings on your terminals.
Otherwise use pieces of string to measure each cable then add.

Thanks Rick, I'll try cleaning the post some, but the corrosion is already pretty well into the cables. I know some people say to just get some new terminals, but I think if we have 1700+ CCA we need bigger cables anyway.
