Drain Water Separator???

Ok I am sorry I know this have been covered extensively but I still have a few questions. I got the warning light the other day. This is the first F250 I have had so I tried to drain it and nothing came out. I took it in and got the oil changed, oil filters and fuel filters. Then the light came on again I tried to drain again and then it started just dripping. I don't know how long to let it drip so I left it for about 20 seconds, it never got to a steady stream. The light came back on. Should I let it drain until I see a steady stream? Is there anyway that I should clean this?

It is 09 6.4 with 45k miles on it.

Thanks

Possibilities:

- sensor bad / need cleaning

- wax / gel as in above link

- ice

Open it up, clean it up, check sensor, then...

Put some anti-gel and water dispersant and cetane boost in your tank.

Using the above link you can take that cover off to check inside. I may just be a sensor though.

Also...what about fuel? are you sure you have good fuel?

This picture shows the fuel/water separator in detail. Comparing that to the above link you can see it is easy to take the cover off and check it.

even just try pulling the plug and poke a wire through the hole and stir it around. as soon as you pull the plug it should gush out.
