Drain Water Separator Light Will Not Go Off
I got a warning to Drain the water separator on a 100 mile trip home. The truck has 15000 miles on it and I had already ordered the filters to replace them. I drained it, got back on the road, and 15 miles later it tripped again, drained again, and 15 miles later same thing, drained again, 15 miles later same thing. So I stopped to eat and let it drain the whole time I was eating. Mind you that I usually do not get but a moderately paced drip out of it. After eating it tripped 15 miles later so I drove the rest of the way home like that.
When I got home I changed the filters. When I cranked the truck it tripped again. When I drained it this time you could visibly see water come out, maybe an ounce total and then it went to fuel again. Restarted the truck and no warning. When I drove it today for about 3 miles and 15 minutes of idling it went off again.
Anyone have any ideas on this thing and what is happening?

yep, bad tank of fuel. Also, mine doesnt drip out when I open the drain so your filters may be pretty clogged. I have read about blown engines that are NOT covered under warranty due to water in the fuel. Guys have tried to fight the filling stations for their $15k engine but I havent heard of a successful result.
It might be a little overkill but I do the fuel filters every 10k because these trucks are sensative to clean fuel. I also recommend (as does the manual) to drain your separator every month.

Wouldn't go more than 10 miles now without filling up with water so I took it in to get it drained yesterday. Supposed to get it back today.
Anyone have any ideas on how I should go about trying to recoup my money from fuel station. It is a relatively large chain station in West Texas called Allsup's.

So the fuel station company gets back to me today. They claim that they sent out a company to test the filters, nozzles, tanks, and whatever else. They claim that there is was no water present. This test was done a week after I got the fuel. They claim that they were using water filters that would shut the pumps down if there was water present.
My question to everyone is: In everyone's opinion, do you think that it is possible for me to end up with 1/4 of the tank being water and have gotten it from somewhere else in a previous fill up. I say absolutely not but maybe someone has a different opinion. I only made it 15 miles away from filling up before this problem started. This guy today listed off everything that they tested and then tells me, "there's nothing we can do, the water could not have possibly come from our pumps."
Thoughts.....This cost me $500 to get fixed. The truck only has 15,000 miles on it.
