Bought a Prodigy brake control today; the store didn't have the factory pigtail, so I went to TSC and bought a brand harness for another brand control, hacked off the end I needed, and spliced it all together. I managed to find the factory plug:
Where does everyone mount theirs? I mounted mine using the metal hoop directly under that pocket area by your right knee. I guess I could've put it near the ashtray, but I figured it'd be easier to reach with it being closer. I've never used a brake control before, but have read thru the quick reference- do you guys have any tips?
I too use the Prodigy. It's fantastic. I mounted it the same place as you. Basically on it, you only need to adjust how hard it initially brakes, and then how fast it progresses from there. The original settings are pretty close though. The only time you need to change it much would be going from a fully loaded trailer to empty.

Cool; thanks- I have heard a lot of good things about this unit, and my buddy uses one in his Silverado 1500 for a 16' Haulmark with no complaints. I will be using it on that trailer, and on a 24' to haul some snowmobiles next week.
The way it's been explained to me, when I initially hook up to a trailer, hold the manual **** and dial in the readout to 6. Driving slowly, activate the manual **** and adjust the dial just to a point before the trailer brakes lock up.
I read the instructions about the "boost" button. Do any of you guys use this feature? Help me understand why instead of using this feature, you wouldn't just dial up the gain for a heavier trailer.
