i bypassed the RABS module in my 88 when the truck was less than 6 months old because they never worked properly, and have never had any problems other than brake lines rotting out 5 times over the past 22 years.

My dad said the RABS has never worked straight from the factory on the 1990 F250! The light never came on, ever, only when you put the key on, and when you hit the brakes in snow, all 4 wheels lock up tight.

same thing with mine John. since the 88 was the first vehicle i ever owned with ABS, bypassing it never made any difference to me except making the truck safer to drive.
when you stepped on the pedal the brakes would throw you through the windshield, and 30 seconds you would step on the brakes and go faster because they didn't work.
i went through more red lights in 5 months back in 88 than i went through both yellow and red lights in my other 41 1/2 years of driving.
the dealer had the truck back over 15 times for a total of almost 5 months.
after they told me there was nothing they could do to fix the brakes short of eliminating the RABS module, i went straight home and removed the lines on both sides, and put a short piece of line in the RABS modules place.

Bypassed the RABS unit, replaced brake line from the master cylinder to the back where it splits to go to both sides. Still no change.

At First when I take off and hit the brakes it goes to the floor but stops me. I pump the brakes a few times and get a hard pedal but it will not stop the truck.

Can bad Rear brakes cause this? Ive pretty much isolated it to the rear brakes.
