Very Interesting! That's quite a feat that the P.O. took on to get it to be a 6X2. Interesting design, and it also has lots of applications for certain people (hauling cars).

Awesome idea, wish it was near me haha. Even for the extra bed :P Those are hard to find themselves.

That is a very interesting find. If I was local I'd buy it for all teh parts, plus a running drivetrain. Wonder if the third axle is a just a dummy or a 9 inch or maybe even a dana 60?

Must be a dead axle. To put a live axle back there, he needs a divider box, second drive shaft, a pillow block on the middle axle....not going to happen in that size truck. Of course, one of the axles you mention could have been used, just not hooked up, but if Fruehauf did it, you think they'd do such a thing? Who would....?

technically if we are counting tires bare minimum its an 8x2 but more likely a 10x2 don't like my math I can prove 7*13=28

Wheel count is for each wheel position, thus a dual wheel only counts as one. Thus, 6x2 for this vehicle.

"18 wheelers" aren't.

"18 wheelers" aren't.
2 steer tires, 8 drive tires, 8 trailer tires = "18 wheeler"
