I apologize for my ignorance on this subject but I bought a bushing replacement kit that include the C bushings; radius arm bushings; trac bar bushings and the bushings for the strut arm.
I have a 1977 F150 4x4 and my question is what's the strut arm and trac bar? I'm finding out that everybody calls them something different. Center link; inner or outer tie rod etc etc etc. Does anyone have a picture they can show me?
The trac-bar is the bar that bolts to the bottom of the frame on one side and attaches to the opposite side of the axle. The Trac bar just keeps the axle from moving side to side. Strut arms are usually radius arms for CV's to keep the swing arms from moving forward and back. On our trucks we have Radius arms, which clamp around the front axle and bolt to drop bracket from the frame under the cab, these long skinny cast iron radius arms keep the front axles from moving back and forth as well. Im poor and i needed radius arm bushings so i just used cool blue hockey pucks instead and there perfect!
Here is the illustration from the Ford parts catalog.
The trac bar is basic p/n 3B239 and the strut arm is basic p/n 3A360.
