Intake casting #'s

Anybody know specifics about Ford cast intakes? Got a couple of #'s for ya!
First one is a 64' casting. Numbers read C4S 427 with 4016 above the caasting #'s.
Second one is a 68'. Numbers read C8AE 9425 F with a large S in front of the casting #'s.

I don't know about the first one but the 68 is the one they used on the gt390 and t-bird 4v 390. these were rated between 315 and 335 hp. I ran that manifold for years on my 76 f-250 4x4 and I can't say enough good things about it. Tons of low end tourque and top end horsepower. It is basicaly the cast iron version of the performer or the old weiand Z-28 manifold. I would still be using it but I got some new heads with the taller ports and they didn't match. The one I'm using now is I beleive, a 1965 casting. Dual plane, no egr, large ports. It's not as tall as the "S" manifold but I'm running a 1in. spacer and it works just fine. For my money the old stock manifolds are as good as the expensive aluminum pieces. They aren't hard to find and as for weight ;if it's on a truck ,who cares. You're not going to get that good of mileage anyway.Steer clear of the 70's truck manifolds,however. They will be weak on the top end performance and they have the egr ports. Get "How to rebuild your big block ford" if you don't already have it. The have many (but not all) casting numbers.
