Aahhh, the good old days of growing up in the heartland, drinking "pop".Then, I moved to Cali.,and was ridiculed for my mid-west vocabulary.Alas,now I drink soda.

 

That's too funny!!! I grew up in Cali and have always called it SODA!!!

But I too get ridiculed for calling it the wrong thing up here in The Great NW!! Ha! Ha!! Ha!!!

Besides,,, "soda bottles" just doesn't have the same ring!!!

 

Speaking of sodas, here's a typical conversation about beverages in Oklahoma.

"Want a coke?"
"OK."
"What kind?"
"Dr. Pepper."

 

Boley got closest to what I was thinking - Now I can't say that thatsparticularly good for either him or I - A Federal Judge has decreed that I'm not likely to play well with other especially in a stressful situtation And this last three years has been hell.

 

I remember an old guy,a southerner I think, telling me that they used to refer to soda/pop as "dope" when he was growing up.He said it hearkened back to the days when there really was cocaine in Coca-Cola.
