Okay I am new to the forum and not a ford guy so I figured it would be better to ask for advice than go pokeing around in my gfs truck.
Shes had this truck for about a month and it ran great when I test drove it. No problems started just fine. Maybe three weeks or so after she got it the thing started having problems starting. Her mom thought it was the starter. Turned out not to be. Didn't really think it was cuz it sounded like it was trying to turn over it just wasn't. It will crank up now but it can take some work and it isn't running good. Its got a carb of course and I am trying to find out if its the fuel filter or is it more likley that the carb needs tuning or the truck just needs a tune up.
Also the hose leading to the air filter is mostly duct tape at this point and I was wondering if I can just got to a parts store and pic one up or am I going to have to go to a junk yard and hope I can find the parts I need.
Ehh not sure on what engine I will grab all the documintation I can when I pick her up tonight. Might not be able to get all of it though. Anyway I can look on the engine and find out?
Also sometimes it will crank up quickly but not run great sometimes you gotta work at it and give it more gas to get it going.
Nope every single one of ems a chevy guy. Thankfully her dad will pay for the tune up if I understood the gf correctly so I may not have to do this all myself.
Ohh and heres the vin cuz the only documintation still left with the truck is the owners manual and its for 79 f100-f350.
