So the wife is letting me look at a new trucks so Sat i went to the dealership and was told by the salesman that "when you put some miles on it and brake it in" they would add 40 HP.
I thought that the Job 2s were given the new programing from the factory and had not heard of a new flash out there to bring it up to 440 HP.
Has anyone else heard of this? just wondering. And yes the wife has agreed to me getting a new truck, the best Christmas present I've have ever had!
My salesman told me that this engine was patterned after the Cummins. He went on and on about how it uses the same injectors as the Cummins, blah blah blah. Bottom line is, don't believe anything that a salesman says. Most of them are lucky to know anything about a Focus let alone a diesel powered Superduty.

I would add to the contract,,, if dyno doesn't prove it out they would refund $xxxxx and see what they say
Another nomination for "Stupid Salesman of the Century". While I would not be surprised if Ford bumps the horsepower again, there has been no talk of it from knowledgeable people.
I find it amazing the number of salesmen I have come across that do not know their product. Next they will be telling you you can get that with a 6-speed manual and a SB with a 50 gallon gas tank.
I agree with this 100%. If I was out a a job trying to sell my product, and a person ask a simple question that I get wrong, then I would not blame him for moving to the next company. Instead of the sales guys all standing around in a "wolf pack" by the managers desk, they should be studying the specs and details of the vehicles they sell. BUT on the other hand, the turnover of sales people is worse than McDonalds. I went into a dealer yesterday, and the guy handed me a card with his name hand written in a blank spot, and his cell right below it in another blank spot...... wow.
That's okay, my salesman told me the block was made out of granite - I said, "YGTBS me, the stuff they make kitchen countertops out of?" - I walked away and laughed.
Later when we were negotiating I told him, "you better sharpen the granite in your pencil."
The sales guys at most dealerships are pretty bad. It really irks me when I want to talk option packages in supposedly their lingo (ex. 96U) and they have no clue what it means.

He didn't get the joke.
that honestly just made my night. atleast my salesmen down where i live have some knowledge about them. not alot but enough not to sound dumb
my buddy bought a 2011 f350 superduty with the diesel. He had it for a month and he recieved an notice from for telling him to bring the truck back to the dealership for a free flash upgrade. they said it would bring him up to 400 hp and 800 ft/lb torque. Is that what you where refering to?
