Alright guys, I just put my stage 1's in last weekend and have put somewhere around 250 miles on the truck. Now my idle rolls up and down when im at a stop. Its not much, just enough to move the tach a hair. Has anybody else had this issue... What should i be looking at? I don't have a scanner... I know the injectors were seated fully (gently encouraged by a rubber mallet) and torqued to 10 ft lbs. It runs good but im waiting for my chip to be reburnt. I'm just curious about the rolling idle.
I wouldn't think that the injectors would have anything to do with that. Is it starting OK, maybe its still not bleed out. When I did mine it took 300 miles to bleed out, I couln't believe it. If its not that I don't know, if I had to guess the IPR. Good Luck.
It starts good if it hasn't sat for a while. It sat for a couple days plus it was in the 20's today and when i went to start it, it romped and died the first time, started it back up and get on the throttle quickly. It stayed running that time. I don't know... Thanks though.
Probably still working out the air. Give it another couple days and see if it improves. If I start mine in my 100hp or 140hp tunes when it's been cold out it idles up around 1,000rpm on it's own for a couple minutes and gives a little puff of black smoke. I figure it's just a little extra fuel that the engine can't burn off cause it's too cold at that point...
LOL. nothin'. The rolling idle is most of the time associated w/ tuning. Wait til you get your tunes back and see how it idles then. If it still rolls, start looking at ICP and IPR data b/c ICP is probably bouncing..
I hear ya. Since I have had aftermarket injectors I have been without tuning for a total of one whole day.. I had the Edge evolution when I put in the stage 1's, then I let a buddy of mine borrow the Edge one night and he wrecked his truck about 2 hours later hauling a$$ on a back road. Haven't been without tuning since then. LOL
Thats kind of what my truck did on the cold start after sitting for a few days when i started it yesterday but it didn't last as long and died the first time, restarted, romped a little and leveled out... I will go ahead and check the FPR screen and clean it today.
really the idle shouldn't be effected with the injectors you have since they are stock nozzles. They should run exactly like stock w/ stock programming, but maybe idle will be better on the chip.. Did you try starting it with the ICP sensor unplugged?

I have not, That will revert the truck back to a designated ICP and tell me if the ICP sensor isn't working correct? Assuming thats the issue, unplugging it and starting the truck, the truck should start smooth and idle smooth? I will do this in the morning and report back. I didn't get a chance to clean my fpr screen today. Raining like mad up here. We are on flood warning from all the rain and mountain snow melt.
