93 5.0 Engine Rebuild

I am getting ready to pull my engine and rebuild it since the front/rear main seals are now leaking like there weren't even installed.

Before I pull the is there anything I should check for while I can still run the engine?

It isn't making any unusual sounds or anything - just wondering if an experienced engine rebuilder would look for anything specific.

how many miles on the motor? you might think about getting the bottem end bearings replaced and also replace the timing chain and also the oil pump.

It has 260,000 miles of hard, stop and go driving.

Frankly, I am anticipating a decking and boring for the block and a complete rebuild from there up - including new bearings/pump/etc.

If the crank is not worn beyond reuse I will faint...

This will be a fun project.
