tight pushrod
i noticed my pushods can still spin after bolting down shaft.All except one on each bank. Is this normal? i didnt pump up lifters with oil before installing.Their non adjustable rockers. 390.

i am not certain on this matter, but just to chime in i must say that i went with new edelbrock lifters and a cam. when installing them what will happen is on each bank of cylinders they will all be in different positions ready to perform their cycle. so some lifters may be on the base circle of the camshaft, and others may be already on the lobe, this stresses the pushrod and would make some feel tight and some not. yes hydraulic lifters do need to prime up with oil in order to function, and then at that time, you will have a zero lash, no adjustment ever needed valvetrain setup. why dont you run the engine, then check them all again?

i thiunk whats happend is some lifters fill with oil while pre soaking them, hence the tight pushrods on several valves.I should prime the motor before starting turn 5he crank a couple revolutions or spin the starter with coil wire off and they should all line up right.
