Quick POR15 Question

I'm working on some more parts for my truck. Right now i'm doing under my hood. There is only a few areas with surface rust, which i grinded out. Do i need to strip all the old paint off and have it completly bare metal? Or can I just grind out the rust spots and clean the rest with a wire wheel. Will the POR stick to the old paint under there? I plan on wire brushing it, but its not all bare metal.

get as much as you reasonably can . Wire brush shoul be fine. Make your spread from the rust several inches wide to good metal then apply. Should be fine to overlap paint but i would give the paint a light sanding.

Any grease or oil should be removed with a non-petroleum based solvent. Of course POR recommends their "Marine Clean".
