Hey guys, so I posted a little while back about how my truck was only running on 4 cylinders and you guys suggested it could be the injector driver module (IDM). My f250 (my daily driver I might add) has been in the shop since halloween weekend. I told my mechanic that I suspected it might be the IDM that day. After not being able to figure it out for a month, he calls me today and says it is indeed the IDM. Wasn't too thrilled about my truck being in the shop for a month, but that's a different story. What I'm wondering is if anyone knows when I can get one quickly and for a low price? I would like to buy a refurbished one or a used one if possible because I'm hoping to not spend too much. There are some on ebay for $125 which is fine, except that I am supposed to drive to Philadelphia for the week on Monday and I need to have my truck to do that. I'm not looking to drop $800 at the dealer for a part that I can buy for much less than that. Does anyone know a place where I might be able to find one for a reasonable price? I would typically search on carpart.com, but the IDM isnt on their list so I don't know how else to search. If I cant find any other way, I'll start calling around to scrap yards tomorrow, but I was hoping to expedite the process. I'm in central Pennsylvania and the truck is a 96 f250 PSD. Any suggestions? As always, thanks guys.
i would try a salvage yard yor can use from 95 to 03 powerstroke, i would try and get a sd one so you will have the 120 mod. i paid 50 bucks for my stock one , and upgraded to the sd
Yeah, salvage yard is the plan. Probably the only way I can get one by monday morning. Whats the advantage of the super duty IDM? I do plan on upgrading my injectors to stage 1 at some point in the future, but top priority right now is to get it running by monday.
It's an upgrade to our stock one. Sends 120volts to the injectors instead of 100 which I think ours are. May be easier to find too, depends on the yard I suppose
