I just started having a problem here this week with a lot of feedback from my brake pedal. When I hit the brakes, the pedal kicks back to me. It also affects the steering when I am backing up. When I hit the brake pedal, the steering wheel jerks and once again lots of feedback in the pedal. Any ideas? The truck is an 08 F-250 Lariat with 43,000mi. Only mods are the Banks six gun w/IQ. No speed brake is installed. Thanks
You have hydroboost brakes which means the power in your power brakes comes from your power steering pump. This is why you feel reactions in both the brakes and steering at the same time. The pump has been criticized for years for being too small or inadequate. I dont know that this is your problem but certainly an area I would explore.

Well, I took my truck in finally to have my brake issue looked at. They had the truck for three days and ended up replacing the hydroboost cylinder. $802.12 out of the ole wallet for that repair! They told me that my truck was the third one in their shop for the same brake pedal kickback problem. They also told me that there is a TSB out on this. If this is such a widespread issue, why doesnt Ford come out with a recall since this could lead to future accidents. It kinda sucks that I had to pay all that money for something Ford is aware of! Any thoughts?
No, when I bought the truck, the 36,000mi bumper to bumper was expired. They told me the only warranty still in effect was the powertrain to 100,000 and that was not considered a powertrain related repair. I tried to get the extended warranty when I bought the truck but they told me it was too far past and not an option since it has 40,000mi on her.
Another update. I replaced the right front ABS sensor harness and it did not fix the problem. I took off both brake calipers and checked them and the brake pads and rotors and they are all in fine shape and nothing sticking. WTH???

I'm guessing you're having same issue as original poster from 10 years ago?
