Question regarding 351W

Does any one know or have a link regarding when did Ford discontinue the carburater on the 351W engine. !985 F150 351 HO was a 4 bbl carb. as far as I know.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think 1987 was the last year for a carburated 351W.

I think 1986 or 1987 was the change over year. 87 was the body change however I think there were a few early 87's with carb 351W's With the new body they changed to EFI.

The F350's had lower emissions standards because of the higher GVW, not sure if they had a carb when the 150's didnt but I can tell you that my 86 came with a carb.

That's the info I was looking for.

Another question: I have a 351W locked in , but would a C6 or AOD transmission be the best. I am shooting for 3:50 gears in the axle.

Good fuel mileage and occasional light hauling=AOD

Don't care about fuel mileage and will be towing a heavy trailer frequently=c6
