hi everyone..i've been trying to figure out what front axle i have for a while now and this is the only number i can find under all the oil and grease (c385) does this mean anything?? any help would be much appreciated....
thanks..
mike
Look on the front of the drivers side axle tube. There should be six numbers a "space" then a letter or number. Call a gear shop "Randy's Ring and Pinion" 1-800-292-1031. They can tell you what size axle and year it is.
As far as what is inside of it, there should have been a tag on the inspection cover with numbers and letters. If not you might have to open it up. I would say it probably has an open carrier unless some 4Xer put some sort or clutched locker or locker in it.
