93 F250 4x4 E4OD problem

A few months ago tranny was leaking from front and I removed and replaced the front seal and put on a new TC. Now truck will only go into forward gears if I press the OD off button. It has began to shift slow between 2nd and 3rd and on a few occasions has not shifted to third at all. It is a high mileage truck I bought used but is very strong. I use it daily for my small lawn business and drive about 200 miles a week. Do I have internal problems or is a sensor to blame.

Sounds like you have a combination of hooking up wiring wrong and hooking up the linkage wrong when you reinstalled the tranny.

I'd start by double checking your work against a service manual if you have one.

There is only one wiring harness. The harness can be plugged in two different ways but only one way allows the truck to even turn over. If the harness is in reverse the truck will not turn over. There is no linkage because it is an electronic transmission.

There are two wiring harness and you did not plug in the one on the passenger side that goes to the solenoid pack.

The one you plugged in is on the drivers side and tells the computer what gear you are in along with the start safety switch and the back up lamps.
