C6 tranny does not move after engine install
just finished pulling, resealing, reinstalling 400 cu. in. engine mated to a c6 tranny in 1980 F-350 4x4. Engine is fine and NO Oil leaks as prior but now I have no tranny, it won't move forward or reverse ! I pulled engine with torque convertor attached and obviously loosing some tranny fluid in the process. reinstalled engine same way with torque conv. attached. everything lined up and in fact it was an easy install. I added 2 qts. tranny fluid via filler tube prior to starting. Fluid level has not gone down as I thought it would and no forward or reverse gears as mentioned above. My question is what did I do wrong ? if anything, and what could be the problem ? is the tranny pump not engaged for some reason to pump fluid into the convertor ? and if so how can I correct this without pulling the engine again or the tranny ?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

NEVER EVER INSTALL ENGINE WITH CONVERTOR ATTACHED.
Alway's install convertor to transmission first, then install the engine to the transmission.
You have probably torn the pump "Dog ear's" completely off.
Pull the transmission with convertor back out. I believe you'll find I'm right.
