That truck is pretty damn sweet, but I don't think its worth more than about 10,000. I've seen it on Ebay before too. I don't know why he doesn't take it to Mecum sp? and auction it that way.
I'd love to buy it and then take it through some mud and then go back to his house and say it just needed a little more detailing, looks great now. LOL... Then I would probably go home and wash all the mud off. LOL..
I wouldn't take a sledge hammer to it, but that might be what the seller needs. J/K
Anyone notice the Interceptor Crown Vic in the garage?
I agree with the comment about the tire dressing. I can't stand that greasy shiney crap. I like Black Magic Matte Finish, it makes tires look like new and doesn't sling off on the paint.
Was I seeing things, or is there lift blocks under the front springs?!
(I'm on my blackberry and can only zoom so far)
Good eye there!!! YES there its lifted in the front with blocks Kinda throws into question even more the "Built with the best of the best" attitude in the ad!!
I smell a lot of BS in this ad, where those MSD parts even available in 1984? That street avenger carb wasn't, I'll tell you that. I think it's a big, fat, phony!
I don't know how they did it then, but as of now Ford's show and promotional vehicles aren't built on the assembly line, they're done by custom shops.
Someone needs to tell him that the 'best of the best' f-250s are converted to solid axle. I gotta agree, sounds too good to be sure. If ford was making a show car from the factory, they wouldn't go out and look for a 1970's block, they would have gotten a fresh block off the production line. just like when they build they're new show trucks, they don't go slap a 7.3L in they're new diesels
Guy still has not responded to my questions...I emailed him this AM regarding the blocks on the suspension. Y'know, if I had a high-ticket vehicle like this listed on ebay, I'd be checking for questions like every hour! Really shows that he's not all that serious about selling it...just wants to show it off IMHO-which is OK-its his truck but I agree with you guys, tough...I think he is full of it. Waaay too many inaccurate statements in his rather wordy description..

Vehicle is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it. Sure, this truck is nice, but not $30k nice. This guy makes me want to require a test drive before purchase. Then go tip it over and say 'Don't think it handles that good, well, gotta go c-ya bye.'

Last of the old school carbureted non emissions trucks.
Obviously he has evidently never seen a 1987 F250 or F350, 8th gen body and carbed!
It was titled to Ford until 2005 when it was auctioned from Ford and the guy behind building and promoting the truck was the buyer.
If that's true where is either a build sheet, or a certificate of authenticity from Ford, or even a printout from the DMV showing that it was truly owned by Ford until 2005. Not to mention that the factory hanging onto a vehicle for 21 years is unheard of unless it's in the museum (Henry Ford's original pre-production Mustang comes to mind.
As for "the best 7th Generation F series truck on the planet" I know where there is one in Ohio, a F250 that has been completely restored and painted Gloss Metallic Black, with a PROPER suspension lift and looks every bit as good as this one, and the girl who owns it is not scared to drive it on and off road either, altho she does put it up in the winter to keep it from getting salted to death.
