2002,excursion 4x4,V10,auto,3:73s, SCT3 tuner
currently getting 7-8mpg but thats on winter gas, in 4x4 all city with extended idle time. i normaly see 10ish in town and 12-14 highway in the summer.
06 Lariat Supercrew with 6.0L. No mods. Last freeway trip, got about 24mpg at 75 mph while driving from KC,MO to Dayton, OH, I use motorkote cetate booster, rotella, HT tires, keep it washed. In the city, I get 16-19 pending temperature and how long warm-up takes. Towing a 6500lb trailer, I got 19mpg, mostly 55mph state hwy driving.
2010 5.4 3.73 manual reg cab only getting 12-13 50-50 higway/city. Goes up a bit on longish highway trips and down a bit all city but right around 12-13 average.
2010 F250 Regular cab 5.4, 3.73 4X4 70% highway I get 13.5 mpg. Interested in what others have done as far as chips, etc. Planning on a shopping spree when the tax return comes.
I've been keeping a spreadsheet since I bought mine 3 years ago and my "lifetime" average is dead on 14.0mpg. All time high was 17.9 and record low was 10.3.
I just bought my 2001 E350 SuperDuty 14' Box van. 160k 7.3 Powerstroke, 4100R tranny. Of course I was hard on it the first tank listening to that turbo spool up right next to my legs, pushing it up hills, having all the usual new truck fun. Loaded with tons of construction tools. Feeling the turbo pull me to speed, seeing how quick the rear duallys break free in snowy conditions, lots of cold morning idling, cab warm ups, etc. I just went to the station and filled it up for the second time.
Did the math and I got 11mpg
What is up with all the low mpg!! 2wd saves a bit, but damn, you guys should be getting better. I am doing an experiment right now, I get on it at every light, and per the "lieometer" I am still getting 14.4. Haven't filled up yet, so I can't give you an exact number yet, I would guess 11ish.
On a happy note, I did destroy a little riced out civic last night
I get dam close to 12 all the time. Best ever was a trip in the summer from texas to northern mn and I got 14.8 over the trip, I was empty other than a passanger and two bags. Thats going about 75 other then going through the ozarks at slower speeds. Just drove to florida from northern mn and got about 13 but I had about 1000 pounds of ***** in the truck.
My last fill up was 13.8 mpg. Truck details in my sig.
I have seen as high as 17.5mpg, before I got the cap. I am not real sure yet what the deal is. My meter is showing about 14 right now and I have had fairly good luck with it reading within a couple tenths at most of my actual mileage. If I stick to country roads and highways (not going too fast) I can hold the mileage around 16.
I have 1 oil change on the truck (7400 miles on the ticker), standard motorcraft 15w40. The next oil change will include fuel filters too. I don't want to push those too long.
My driving conditions vary. A normal day of about 8 miles of "in town" driving (not much city, suburbs - lights and stop signs) then 17 miles of country roads at around 60mph, a mile down the road for lunch, and the reverse of the above sequence home. Some days I jump on the highway, about 30 miles with some bumper-bumper traffic. Most of the haul is cruise at 67mph. Occasionally I go longer distances on the highway - up to a couple hours. I try to avoid as much in-town driving as I can. I usually go easy on the accelerator, though it is kind of hard to keep my foot out of it occasionally when the transmission hits 4th - the turbos like to wind up nice.
05 SC SB 4x4 V10 5R110 4.10s I average 11.0-12 city and if it's empty on a long trip I'll see 15mpg but usually averages in the 14's on the highway. I've installed tonneau cover, flowmaster cat-back, AirAid intake, TB spacer, DiabloSport tuner. Not bad for a 7k lb truck
My '09 F250 SC 4x4 is getting 9.5-10mpg! I have zero mods, other than 285/70/17 tires (which shouldn't kill my mileage THIS bad!). I have the 5.4L with 3.73s I believe. Any thoughts on ways to improve mileage? At +/-$3.21 a gallon this is getting ridiculous! This is my 4th SD with the 5.4L, and I have NEVER had fuel mileage this bad. Any thoughts/ideas would be appreciated.
