I was wondering what some of you might have for ignition in your trucks. I mean aftermarket. Like what type of wires, plugs, coils, ignition boxes, etc. I was thinking of running the Bosch platinum 4 plugs, and Ford racing 9mm wires. I was also thinking maybe an aftermarket coil (Accel or MSD) and is there any better cap and rotor. Summit has a kit with new wires, plugs, cap and rotor for like 80 bucks. Just wonderin what someone else might be running! So let me know what you got.
I use a "Readt to Run" MSD dist that has been curved for my pick up's performance. An MSD Blaster II coil, 8mm "Taylor" wires, and NGK plugs. It doesn't miss a beat, runs smooth, and has enough power for what I use it for. I use them in a '71 F250 4X4.
If you go with a after market dist & coil make sure you run 12v to them if the instructions call out for it. Most older Fords have a resistor wire off the ignition switch that only allows 8 - 10 volts to the ignition units.
