Headers are a good start, Iv got a brand new set that im too lazy to install and willing to sell...
dual exhuast
alumnium intake and heads if you have the cash layin around.
rv camshaft and straight up timing chain
MSD ignition
port match heads and intake and polish on the exhaust

the list can go on and on

Headers and exhaust provide the most bang for the buck.

The factory "T" 4 barrel intake is actually pretty good for a DD/ mild engine build. Of course it weighs 70 pounds unlike the aftermarket aluminum at 30.

All FE timing sets are "straight-up"

I would consider the MSD a step down from the Durapsark.

The factory iron heads aren't too bad with a pocket port/ bowl blend.

Of course if you win the lottery...

Bang for the buck?

Stage 1.
600 to 650 cfm carb, dual plane intake, headers & dual 2.5 inch exhaust, K&N air filter. Spot-on tune up (mixture, timing, jets).

Stage 2. Aluminum cylinder heads and lumpier camshaft. 3-inch exhaust

Stage 3. Fast XFI Fuel Injection and a bottle of NOS.

Stage 4. Contact Survival Motorsports

Ummm I was under the impression that after 72 the gov. mandated that the timing be set at 4* retarded due to the B/S reason of better emissions...

Hmmm... maybe for the car engines. Stock FE sets are "straight-up" and all used the same timing chain from 1964-1976... C4TZ-6268-A

Can't speak for the Windsors, Modifieds or 385 series.
