I have a 2001 EX with the 7.3 diesel 4x4. I noticed the that the front end sits lower than the rear (not level). Any thoughts to leveling it out. A body shop down the road did F350 springs in the front???? Looks good but was wondering if there were any other ways????
I had a set of new leaf springs put under the front of our 2003 6.0, I used the pro comps from summit racing #22410. I could have swore I read that they would give me a 2" lift in the front but it ended up at about 4". So I put some blocks in the rear make up for it.
They are stiffer for sure, I have the rancho rs9000xl's on it also and they are set at #6 up front...it doesn't roll or dive nearly as much as it did with the stock set up but it also had 203k on it when we got it so the suspension was pretty whooped.
my first excursion i put f-350 plow prep springs( X-code) on it..i got about 3" of lift with them. i had to add f-350 blocks to the rear to make it level again after.
my new excursion i kept the factory springs, and added 2" lift shackles. i've had them a month now(?) and i love them. they gave pretty much the exact same amount of lift 3" but are alot cheaper then new springs. the company i bought from has 1" 1.5" and 2" lift shackles so you can pick how high you want to go.
After I screwed up and put the front up to high I ordered some add a leafs from fat bob's to get my 2" back in the rear but after a long look at the situation I decided that was going to be to much for me to do myself and a garage wanted $300 to rebuild the packs...so I put the add a leafs on a self and ordered blocks and u-bolts, that I could handle and the ride quality would stay the same.
I just put a rough country 2.5" leveling kit for F250/350 and a 2" add a leaf in the rear.....I was beating the bumpstops to death......netted about a 3 to 3.5" lift...... it is a bit higher than I wanted.......but it is growing on me......think a 35" tire will fit now ? or only 33 "......have 285's now
