77 rear window?

77 rear window?

Im re doing my 77 f100 and removed the rear window to replace it and the rubber seal and found some rust holes under the rubber. how should I go about fixing this I have the cab gutted at the moment should I cut it ount and weld in a new peice or dose anyone have any other ideas, thank

can you post some pictures? I have a cab that had some small pinholes in the same place as you. I sandblasted them as clean as I could from the outside, and filled the holes with fiberglass filler. the fiberglass filler is waterproof, where regular plastic filler is not. it worked out pretty good in my opinion. Others will caution you to cut it out and replace it. I agree to some extent, however, when you weld in the new patch, you will not be able to protect the new weld from the backside with any primer...therefore, that area will begin to rust as well. Tough decision, good luck with the repair.
