Intakes ? 351W-4V

So many choices. Alot of people say to use the RPM. Wouldn't the original Performer be a better choice for a truck. Looking for opinions. My buddy has a big block he says how often are you really under 1500 RPM's ? Getting ready to buy a new intake and carb. Thinking of buying the Truck Avenger from Holley for a carb. confused on intake. Thanks, Dan

The Performer is designed for stock or near stock motors running up to 5000 rpm. The RPM breathes freer at higher rpm, but still gives good low-end torque due to it's dual-plane design. The Weiand Stealth reportedly is a better top-end manifold than the Performer RPM. Single-plane intakes such as the Torker II or Victor should be left for non-street racing engines or big-inch strokers; they sacrifice low-end torque and response for top-end horsepower. The Air-Gap intakes sound good, but the isolated runners will probably cause cold weather problems.
