School ?
In Social studies we were taught with a Globe.
This allowed us to learn about the whole world, not just about our locale or our Country.

I had to write several essay's in H/S.

They were usually of exotic places.

We get a feeling up here that very few American's have any real idea about Canada & its weather, topography, money,Natural resources,Government.

Canadian children *were* taught years ago that it is best to study not only Canada,& the U.S. but the rest of the world too.

How was Newfoundland Discovered?

Well,One winter a bunch of French Canadians were playing hockey on the St. Lawrence Seaway and one of them got a break-a-way.

GROAN.

Here I thought you might have some new piece of interesting archeological history for me.

In that case, I stand by my answer. It was the Vikings.
