It made it easy to pick them out, didn't it. The work trucks were a little challenging with their black grills.
Sure did! Yes, the black grills were tough, had to default to the badging on the hood/fender. Also, the 6.7 splash on the door helped a few times.
One of the work trucks had the wig-wags from the factory integrated into the grill....pretty slick!
I gotta ask... WTH is a wig-wag any why is it in the grille?
WigWags are emergency strobe light control devices.
There are many different brands (Whelen, Code3, etc.) but most just call them all as wigwags. Kind of like people call all skid-steers "bobcats" when other companies like Case manufacture skid steers in addition to the Bobcat brand. The Kleneex brand of tissues is the same, everyone calls tissues Kleneex regardless.
You know your marketing dept is doing something right when they use your name for everything!
ahhh ok so it's a brand of strobe. I guess not living in slow plow country, I made it this far in life (and have owned this many trucks) without ever having heard of Wig-Wag. makes sense now

I've been seeing more and more of these strobe lights on trucks working on freeways (separated by concrete barriers from active lanes)...more than ever before. I wonder if a law was passed or something? Maybe they just became easier to acquire so everyone is tossing them on.
It's just easier now I think.
Each state has it's own laws about non-OEM flashing lights (OEM would be your blinkers) and what colors are for what but we could go on to pages and pages of discussions over what is allowed or not allowed and where. Those road construction crews usually have permits, aside from the fact it makes them a little safer (although sometimes too many strobes make things worse). "ohhh...look at the pretty flashing lights...OH CRAP, BRAKE!!!"
